The Production of Milk
Jan 30th, 2008 by admin
Harvey Milk was an American politician as well as a gay rights activist in San Francisco Ca.
His contributions further beyond his recognition as a politician. According to Time magazine, he was “the first openly gay man elected to any substantial political office in the history of the planet”. He was a man, a mayor of Castro Street, and active during major changes in San Francisco. Milk was assassinated in 1978 by Dan White, whose mild conviction led to the White Night Riots in San Francisco.
Currently filming in San Francisco, Ca, is a film based on the true story of this great politician and activist’s life in the 70’s, played by Sean Penn.
Directed by Gus Van Sunt, and written by Dustin Lance Black, “Milk” is expected to reach the box office towards the end of the summer of 2008.
Supporting cast involves: Josh Brolin, Emile Hirsch, James Franco, etc

I posted some shots of the shooting and of Gus Van Sant, Emile Hirsch and Sean Penn here:
