Dakota Fanning all Grown Up Already!

2009 January 26

Born in February, 1994, in Conyers, Georgia, Dakota Fanning loved to role play and act. She was a natural.
Soon after her parent’s discovery of her acting talents, they moved to Los Angeles.
Fanning’s first gig was a Tide commercial.
She was last seen as Lily Owens in the film “The Secret Life of Bees”. She is 14 years old.
In her latest exhibition, she plays a psychic of sorts, aiding Chris Evans in the attempts to put down an evil company. She does not seem 14years of age but at all.. indeed she has grown.

Suddenly she appears to have grown up. We all get used to our child actors staying children. What happens when they grow up?

Dakota Fanning, whom we dearly remember from the 2001 hit “I am Sam”, starring Sean Penn, suddenly has appeared to not be the innocent sweet little girl we thought she was.
Soon to be 15years of age Miss Fanning has had quite a career under her belt, yet she is barely grown up.
However, images of her acting as an responsible adult, I find hard to fathom, since she is the sweetly remembered girl with her horse in the film “Dreamers”

The puzzling scenario of Hollywood always seems to get me when young actors suddenly grow up.

One minute we share a laughter or two with them on the Disney channel, the next they appear half naked on the covers of magazines such as MAXIM.

Young actors should always stay young, I thought. We the viewers are not ready for a sudden change. I mean come on, we have been watching “Friends”-the TV show, for ten plus years, and its still on!
They have been telling us about the digital age for years now, and even though we are just at its brink, some folk might find this fact a shock.

So here is young actress Dakota Fanning, wearing exclusive dresses and high heels as being wildly photographed on the red carpet. It won’t be long before she appears on a magazine cover as a sex object.
It is simply weird to think about, but it is true, and it is Hollywood’s style. It happened with the Olsen Twins. Once the “Full House” babies, later became sex objects for the camera lens. Not as drastic however, as Lindsey Lohan’s inappropriate tabloids.

Dakota Fanning, who has had her hands full every year since her breakthrough film “I am Sam”, has stopped short for breath for her late 2009/2010 projects.
Her last projects are finished. First, she plays Cassie Holmes, a girl who can see the future in the film coming out this February, “Push”. Based on a thrilling idea from Tim Krings TV Series “Heroes”, “Push” is an intriguing action thriller, directed by Paul McGuigan(Lucky No. Sleven,Wicker Park)
Further more, “Coraline”, is an animated film directed by Henry Selick (Nightmare before Christmas) where a girl(Fanning) enters through a secret door into an alternate version of her life.
There have been brief gossip regarding the possibility of Miss Fanning starring in the Twilight sequel, “New Moon” coming out late 2009, however nothing is for sure right now.

So please Miss Fanning, give us a some subtlety into your entry of adulthood in the future. And try not to wind up on the covers of Maxim.
