In the recent weeks I ve been letting my inner nerd come out, making remarks to my peers, paralleling minor day to day events to Harry Potter, Star Wars and Star Trek.
Perhaps my need to reveal my Sci-Fi kid is because of the gentleman sitting behind me in the movie theater commenting about Star Trek: “Well, it wasn’t great, but I suppose it was entertaining.” And to this I turned around and flipped him the Vulcan bird saying. “Live long and prosper, punk.” I’m sure he is still bemused.
Admittedly ashamed, I doubted the genius behind the new Star Trek movie. The idea that young actors could take over the roles of the characters we’ve come to know and love for generations was simply stupid. Chris Pine was hilarious in “Bottleshock”, but no Captain Kirk. Little did I know that Star Trek would tie my movie record of 3 sit-ins to Beauty in the Beast in 1991. My mother put up with my fanaticism somehow.

Yes, I have seen Star Trek 3 times, and what can I say? The film is perfect. Thank you Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman for rolling in the Green Women. Star Trek establishes the beginnings of our beloved characters James T. Kirk and Mr. Spock on the USS Enterprise reeling in nuances we Trekkies look out for, but unnecessary for the average movie goers to enjoy. Trust me, Jason adn Justin could care less about the insertion of the green women-they simply enjoyed the nakedness without any past Trekkie history.
Due to the expert writing skills of Orci and Kurtzman the 2 hour long movie keeps you on edge throughout. Thankfully they spice the film with dutiful comedy, action and captivating dialogue. J.J. Abrams is best known for his work on television, writing the new thriller Fringe and directing many episodes of Alias and Lost, but brings to the table a film that is personable for sci-fi and non sci-fi audiences.
“Fascinating”
Thank you, Mr. Spock.
Perhaps I’m in such awe because the movie was cast so well. Karl Urban as Bones, Simon Pegg as Scotty and Anton Yelchin as Chekov created an on-going river of tears and tremendous stomach pain from too much hilarity. I will leave the viewers to raise a voice as to whether or not they found Winona a necessary, age-appropriate, and unbearably awkward choice to play Spock’s mother. Ah, well, I guess you can’t have it all in the end.
Administrator out.

We would like to use the picture of the Star Ship Enterprise as seen above for educational purposes. Could we get permission?
Thank you.

To play the role of Spock for Zachary Quinto is not to play. Sylar in Heroes - this is the real character for actor art.
The best in this movie is a musical theme
