“When I was your age they’d say: you either become cops or criminals. What I am saying is this: When you are facing a loaded gun, whats the difference”~ Frank Costello, The Departed.
An adaptation from a screenplay in 2002 by Siu Fai Mak, and a remake of the Japanese original film set in Hong Kong “Infernal Affairs”, The Departed is an extraordinary film and a four academy award winner directed by the all fabulous Martin Scorsese
Rolling Stones calls it : The new American crime classic from the legendary Martin Scorsese, whose talent shines here on its highest beams.
Leonardo Di Caprio plays a cop undercover as a criminal, antagonized my Matt Damon, as his opposite. Jack Nicholson is the Irish mob leader, that pays off cops to leave him alone.
Of Course, Mark Wahlberg is that pissed off, angry detective, whose hell is bared by everyone else in the film.
It is the most exhilarating, magical, suspenseful film of the year. Intertwined with the Irish theme songs from the Dropkicks Murphy’s, this film sets you off for intense entertainment for the next 3 hours of so.
